I have heard lots of horror stories about having broken xbox systems within months of purchasing them! My horror started when one afternoon it started giving me problems with the dvd-rom. The system refused to start any game and repeatedly gave me errors. So, called Xbox repair center for help They gave me the run around and I've been talking to 1-800-4my-xbox for over a month trying to get my xbox repaired. After the first call, they gave me a Ref. number which usually looks like 106-xxx-xxxx. They told me to wait a week to receive the box and call back if I want the tracking number. Well, its been three weeks now and still haven't received a box yet! I hesitated calling the repair center just to get the tracking number, because I knew it would eat up half hour of my cell phone minutes and my precious time trying to get a freaking' tracking number. I don't know why but, I logged on to UPS.com and tried a trick that worked for my T-mobile phone repairs, T-Mobile had me put my cell phone number in the reference field on the UPS.com site to see the tracking of my replacement phone without having to remember that long (1zxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) number. So, I log on to UPS.com, click Tracking up top, and Reference on the left hand corner. It brought up a box to put in the reference number and bunch of other info. I simply put in my 106-xxx-xxxx without the dashes and pressed track on the bottom. Amazingly, it showed exactly when and where they shipped from and I was going to receive my package in two days! I was excited to find this information and the easier way to track Xbox Replacement systems! Hopefully, this information will come in handy for some poor guy who's being pushed around by the big M.S.
